After installing cameras at two intersections in Pueblo, traffic officials in the Colorado city said that the number of broadside collisions in these locations has dropped dramatically. The cameras have been in place for two years at the intersections of Thatcher and Prairie and U.S. 50 and Norwood on the East Side.

Pueblo city and county residents are invited to drop off their cut Christmas trees for free from Jan. 7 through 21 at Vision Recycled Aggregate. Vision is located at 195 Vision Lane off of East 4th Street. Trees are accepted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Remove all decorations, tree stands, wires or nails from trees. Trees must be dropped off at designated times only.

Last Tuesday evening, Bethany Maes, 17, of Colorado Springs was killed in a collision with a utility truck at the intersection of Marksheffel and Fontaine. According to the Colorado State Patrol, Maes was traveling westbound on Fontaine in a Honda Accord when she apparently ran a stop sign and was hit by a utility truck headed north on Marksheffel Road.

A man riding his bicycle at the intersection of Academy and Palmer Park was hit by a car just before 5 p.m. on Dec. 4. Though the man, who was in his 60s according to KKTV, was taken to the hospital with a serious head injury, he will be okay. Colorado Springs police said the driver did not leave the scene and would not be considered at fault in the accident.
